37 hours per week, Permanent Contract, term time plus 4 weeks (please note that some work during July and August is required to support summer holiday activities)

Salary: Grade 12 (£11.50 – £13.21 per hour; Actual salary £21,130 – £24,271)

We are keen to appoint an Adolescent Support Worker to support students (predominantly years 9-11) who are at risk of Permanent Exclusion from their mainstream school. This is a pivotal role that offers the successful candidate the opportunity to transform the outcomes of students. You will be passionate about inclusion and support our belief in the importance of relationships in underpinning educational success for students with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with the Team Leader to plan and review each case, forging relationships with both the student and their school to support with specific issues in and out of education and, ultimately, enabling the student to reconnect with their education.

We are looking for an Adolescent Support Worker who:

  • Can establish a rapport and build successful relationships with students as a foundation to supporting and challenging them to achieve their educational potential.
  • Is an excellent practitioner who is reflective, recognises their own development needs and is keen to learn.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills, works well in a small team and is confident to develop effective relationships with colleagues in schools.
  • Is organised and hard working – willing and able to go the extra mile.
  • Firmly believes that every child, irrespective of background and starting point, can be successful in learning.
  • Is imaginative and can create opportunities to promote children’s social and emotional development.
  • Is resilient and dependable and is committed to high quality support for young people.
  • Is able to work collaboratively as part of the wider TDPC staff team.
