Fairmead School Key Stage 4 were involved in a National design competition (as part of their D&T class) organised by the Design Museum, London. The brief for the competition was to design an every day product at a cost of £5 for a retail cost of £10 that could be sold in the Design Museum’s shop.

On Wednesday 15th November students from over 20 schools across the country will be heading to London to attend a reception at Parliament to honour the Champions of ‘Fishing 4 Schools’.

Last year, 6th Form students at Avalon School identified their work preferences during the accreditation ‘Preparation for work’. Students have been allocated and attended suitable, weekly work experience placements in the local community.

The Somerset Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) has launched new guidance for professionals and managers to make sure help is available for children, young people and families as soon as it is needed. The guidance aims to further establish the principles of Early Help for all those who support children, young people and their families in the County.

Critchill School's new cycle workshop provides vulnerable and disengaged students with the opportunity to learn new skills, develop self-confidence and gain a sense of achievement, as well as begin to build work-related skills such as team-working and problem solving.
